Tuesday, 21 July 2026 11:14

Good news! The early-bird registration and travel grant deadline  for the 5th FEBS-IUBMB-ENABLE 2026 Conference has been extended until 24th of July 2026.

Join us 14–16 October 2026 at Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland, for three inspiring days dedicated to science, career development, and networking. This year's theme, "The Code of Life: Beyond the Genome to Multilayer Biology", will explore how biological systems function across multiple levels, from genes and proteins to cells, tissues, organisms, and their environments.

Why is FEBS-IUBMB-ENABLE unique?

The FEBS-IUBMB-ENABLE Conference is designed by early-career researchers, for early-career researchers. Unlike traditional scientific conferences, it combines cutting-edge science with professional development and networking opportunities, creating an environment where Master's students, PhD candidates, and postdoctoral researchers can actively participate, present their work, and build international connections.

???? Scientific Symposium (14–15 October 2026)

The scientific programme offers an inclusive platform where even researchers at the earliest stages of their careers are encouraged to present their work through poster presentations and selected short and flash talks. Whether you are presenting your first project or sharing more advanced research, FEBS-IUBMB-ENABLE provides a supportive environment to receive feedback, exchange ideas, and learn from both peers and internationally renowned scientists.

This year's programme will cover topics including:

  • New disease models
  • Innovative applications of omics technologies
  • Computational approaches to integrate biological data across scales and predict biomolecular interactions
  • Best practices for data sharing and open science

We are delighted to welcome an outstanding line-up of keynote speakers:

Alexandre Bonvin (Bijvoet Centre for Biomolecular Research, Utrecht University, The Netherlands); Guido Sanguinetti (SISSA, Trieste, Italy); Syed Haider (Institute of Cancer Research, London, UK); Mzia Kutateladze (George Eliava Institute of Bacteriophages, Microbiology and Virology, Georgia); Daniela Ungureanu (University of Oulu, Finland); Aleksandra Kołodziejczyk (International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, Warsaw, Poland); Krzysztof Szade (Jagiellonian University, Kraków, Poland); Tanja Ćirković Veličković (University of Belgrade, Serbia)

???? Career Day (16 October 2026)

One of the uniqueness of ENABLE is its dedicated Career Day, offering participants the opportunity to explore career paths well beyond beyond the academic path.

Meet professionals from:

  • Scientific publishing
  • Biotechnology companies
  • Pharmaceutical industry
  • Science communication
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Research management and funding organisations

Through interactive workshops, panel discussions, and informal networking with speakers, participants can ask questions, gain practical advice, and learn about the many career opportunities available..

???? Outreach Activities

Our outreach programme allows participants to engage with the public, helping communicate scientific discoveries in accessible and inspiring ways while developing valuable science communication skills.

More than a conference

FEBS-IUBMB-ENABLE is much more than a scientific meeting. It is a vibrant international community where young scientists can:

  • Present their research in a friendly and supportive environment.
  • Receive feedback from leading experts and peers.
  • Build collaborations across disciplines and countries.
  • Develop professional skills through dedicated career activities.
  • Expand their international scientific network.
  • Discover new career opportunities in academia, industry, biotech, and beyond.

Whether you are attending your first international conference or looking to broaden your professional network, FEBS-IUBMB-ENABLE offers a unique opportunity to grow as both a scientist and a professional.
